This is the official wedding website of Christopher Gwin and Lynsey Jordan.

We are finally married! Everything went off without a hitch! We want to thank everyone who helped out the wedding. We could not have had such a great time without you. We also want to thank our friends and family who attended.

We aren't taking the site down just yet so you can learn a little bit about the bride and groom, including how they met and how they got engaged. There is also a section to learn a little bit about each of our wedding attendants.

The Bride and Groom

And here we are… 3 cities, 4 apartments, 1 house, 2 dogs, and 2 cats later. We are
ready to make our union official.

How We Met

Chris and Lynsey met as teenagers in New Roads, Louisiana in the summer of 1999. Chris and Jeremy Bello, one of the best men, were DJing at All-Star, a popular teen hangout at the time. There, Jeremy introduced Chris to his classmate, Lynsey. Soon after, Chris and Lynsey attended each others rivaling schools’ homecomings. They lost touch as Chris left for the Army.

The two were reunited again in the summer of 2002. As they were growing closer, Lynsey was involved in a serious car accident. She was in the hospital for a week and Chris visited every day. The day after her release from hospital, on November 23, 2002, they officially began dating.

The Engagement

On July 28, 2006, Chris and Lynsey went to Las Vegas for her 21st birthday. Soon after settling into their hotel room at New York New York, Chris suggested they get something to eat. While they were walking across the Brooklyn Bridge model, Chris stopped Lynsey to throw coins into the water below and make a wish. They continued to walk across the bridge. Halfway down the bridge, Chris stopped and called to Lynsey. She turned around to see Chris on his knee with a ring in his hand. After laughing like a fool and continuously yelling “Shut Up!”, she gladly said Yes!

The Bride ~ Lynsey Jordan

I was raised in Morganza, Louisiana. I am the youngest of 3 kids. I’m not terribly social.
My mom and dad do enough talking for everyone. I really have to get to know
someone before I really open up. Once I do, there is no telling what will come out
of my mouth.

I really couldn’t have planned my life out better. I went to a great school where I met some great friends that I will remember forever. After graduation, Chris and I left for Texas for a taste of the city life. I got my Associates and Bachelors degree in Interactive
Media Design. I found a career that I love in web design.

Chris and I have been on our own for 4 years now. We might as well have been
married. We are both responsible adults who love one another very much.
Chris and I are both terribly blunt with one another which keeps
everything out in the open. The thing I like best about Chris is that
he is an open book, he never hides things.

The Groom ~ Chris Gwin

I’m the youngest of 5 kids. I was fortunate enough to have heroes for parents and great siblings. I grew up in New Roads, Louisiana. My family is extremely close. It’s a great
thing to have a family that is also your friend. While growing up in New Roads, I made
some of the best friends possible. Blood or not, I look at these friends as family. I never really fit in much in my hometown. I was always the weird one. That never bothered me because I never seemed to care what other people thought of me.

When I met Lynsey, I knew there was something special there. When she asked
me to move to Hell (TEXAS) with her, I didn’t hesitate. Even though I don’t care for
Texas, there has been some great points about it. I’ve made some great friends
and learned a lot of new things. I found a job that I excelled at easily and I’ve
even learned how to tattoo. Having Lynsey here with me does make
things a lot easier. I tend to have no filter and it’s good to have
someone around who forces me to think before I speak or do. What I like
most about Lynsey is her drive to go after what she desires.

The Kids ~ Memphis and Paris

Memphis and Paris are our Yorkshire Terriers. We bought them after moving to Texas so they have been part of the family for the last 4 years. They have kept us sane and give us so much to laugh about.

Memphis is our boy. He bursts with personality, has separation issues, and out-sleeps us every morning.

Paris is our girl. She is shy around others, eats everything in her path, and greets us every morning like we have been gone for months.

Amy Dabadie ~ Maid of Honor

Amy is my sister and oldest friend. She is actually my step-sister, but she might as well be my blood. I don’t remember meeting her; she has just always been my friend. We finally became sisters when we were around 9 years old. I think it would be
any little girl's dream to have your best friend become
your sister! She is the most congenial person I
know and so easy to talk to about anything.

Anna Bossier

Anna says she met me through Amy, but I only remember meeting her at church when her father became the new pastor. She didn’t like me at first but we quickly became good friends. Our friendship is built on blunt honesty. She is nothing but loyal and would never say anything that she wouldn’t say to my face. She would also say she had a hand in linking Chris
and I together since she was friends with both of us.

Uyen Vo

I’ve only known Uyen for 2 years, but she is my best friend in Dallas. After many lonely Saturdays together at TNT Dental doing nothing but support changes and talking, we got to know one another quickly. We think a lot alike and share a great passion for design. She is my partner in crime and professional colleague. She is a lot of fun to be around. I trust
her more than most.

Jeremy Bello ~ Best Man

Jeremy and I met when I was about 12. We became friends right away because we had a lot of things in common. We looked at life the same way. Jeremy was the brother I always wanted. No matter what was going on, I knew I could always go to
him about it. He is a loyal person and a great guy to
be around. He was responsible for introducing
Lynsey and I and took care of Lynsey at school when she was in
her wheelchair.

Richard Martinell ~ Best Man

At first, Richard and I hated one another. I thought he was a nerd, and he thought I was a thug. My mom and his foster mom worked at the hospital. They set us up to work on a part-time job together. The night before the first day of work, we found
a common love in Vodka and became good friends
overnight. Ever since then, our friendship has
withstood hard times and long distances. Even though he is older than me,
I see him as a younger brother.

Nick Lossett

Nick and I met through Jeremy. We really got to know one another by playing together in local pool tournaments. He is a genuine guy and a loyal friend. His unique sense of humor (aka “corny jokes”) is good for lightening the mood. Not to mention, even though he has the body of a 7 year old girl, he can eat more pizza than Jeremy and I combined.

Caleb Pizzolato

Caleb and I met in the 9th grade and have been friends ever since. We have remained friends while he was in the Navy and while I have been in Dallas. The thing I love most about Caleb is that he can always make me laugh.

The Wedding

We are coming home to share our special day with friends and family. Here is shower

The Venue

The wedding and formal reception will take place in the Reception Center of the Oak Lodge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It will be a cozy indoor wedding. There will be around 100 guests attending. Oak Lodge is tucked away off of Sherwood Forest, so be sure to take a look at the map on this site.

The Day

The wedding is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. in the Reception Center of the Oak Lodge (to learn more about the venue, click here). Please arrive with ample time to be seated. We will have ushers passing out programs for the evening. Please turn off your cell phones before the ceremony. Take all the pictures you want, just don’t stop us while we are coming down the aisle. We would also appreciate it if you don’t object to the wedding, that would be great.

The Shower

Lynsey's sisters hosted a wedding shower on Friday evening of December 21.
The location was at the home of Billy Chism, Lynsey's brother, in Fordoche,
Louisiana. We would like to thank the friends and family who attended or mailed us gifts.

We would especially like to thank our hostesses, whose gift of money helped us to put a down payment on our new couch, lounge chair,
ottomon and coffee table.

We have already spent 4 years building a home, so we have plenty of stuff. Our
registry lists aren't very long, but we are adding as we find the need. Many items
are only available online. Feel free to have the gift shipped straight to our home

The Receptions

Formal Reception || Evening Reception

Formal Reception

The formal reception will follow immediately after the wedding ceremony. If you are
invited to the wedding, we ask that you stay to eat and dance. We will have an endless
buffet of catfish, crab, shrimp, crawfish, pork, chicken, beef and MUCH more. We will
also have a chocolate fountain and a whimsical display of sweets and guilty
pleasures. We will have light music and formal dances. No alcohol except champagne
will be served at this reception.

Evening Reception

This is when the informalities begin! The celebration will relocate to the Woodmen of the
World Lodge in New Roads, Louisiana at 7 pm. What is left of the formal reception
buffet will be transported to this venue. We will provide some alcohol, but we are fine
with you bringing your own as well. We do not take well to strangers and party
crashers, so please RSVP to this event before arriving unannounced. We will have a
security officer on duty. You can either RSVP on this website or contact the bride
or groom. If you don’t know our number or email, then you probably aren’t meant to be there.

Richard, one of Chris’ best men, and some of the Dallas Police Officers are planning a Bachelor blow-out for Chris and his Dallas friends. The details and date have not been
